If you'd like to setup a permanent/ recurring tax deduction for an employee, you would be adding an Upwards Variation.

To do so, go to Employees...Tax Declaration, tick the Upwards Variation box and enter the additional amount you'd like to deduct.

Recurring Tax Adjustments (Upwards Variation)

If your employees would like some of their salary to be deducted as tax, instead of adding a manual tax adjustment each payrun, you simply need to tick the Upwards Variation Requested, and enter the amount that will be deducted from the employee's gross earnings.

Hence, every single payrun, you'll find the upwards variation line included in the Tax Box.

Ad Hoc Manual Tax Adjustment

You can create a manual tax adjustment line to change the total tax withheld from an employee's particular pay.

Under normal circumstances this will not be necessary, since Paycycle calculates accurately PAYG Tax.

To do so, click on "Add Tax Line..."

You'll be prompted with the following pop up. Click OK.

Finally, include the amount you want to add or delete from the PAYG tax (if you want to deduct, simply enter a negative figure like "-50")
